Private Wealth Advisor
With more than twenty-two years as a financial advisor, John A. Calhoun has catered to clients large and small for the duration of his career, from the individual investor to mid-sized corporations and endowments. John honed his financial planning skills working for some of Wall Street's most prolific investment firms.
At the center of his success is his unfaltering commitment to the pursuit of his client's interests, leaving no stone unturned in crafting solutions tailored to the unique circumstances and objectives of each. The depth and breadth of his experience and expertise has equipped him with a broad understanding of the diverse needs of his clientele and allowed him to include some rather unique solutions in his toolbox — specializing in estate planning, business succession planning, retirement planning, tax minimization strategies, and investment management.
John graduated from Morehouse College in 1990, earning a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and a minor in Business Administration.
When not planning the financial futures of his clients, John enjoys spending time with his wife Kim and two children at their home in Alexandria, Virginia. John can also be found lecturing small groups on financial planning and investment management. He is active with the Urban League of Northern Virginia, and coaches youth football and on college preparedness. John chairs the Personal and Professional Development Ministry of Antioch Baptist Church, Fairfax Station, where he is an active member. In addition to his membership in the Morehouse College Alumni Association, John is an active member of the Alexandria Fairfax Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity.
